Used Books

We have PAUSED buying used books between December 1, 2025 and January 15, 2026.

If you’d like to sell second-hand books to us, please keep the following in mind:

  • We only offer store credit for used books.
  • We accept most fiction and non-fiction titles. We do not purchase comics, magazines, encyclopedias, or dictionaries.
  • We are also not currently buying any mass market size titles or any vintage or collectable books without prior discussion
  • All books must be in excellent, like-new condition — no cracked spines, markings, stains, or strong scents.

We will accept one bag or box at a time to review and make an offer of store credit to you. Store credit can be used on anything in the store. If you'd prefer to donate your store credit, please let us know! We have many deserving schools and community groups in the area. Any titles you drop off to us that we cannot add to our used book collection will be donated unless you indicate you would like them returned to you.

Used book trades take at least 5-10 business days to process, longer during busy seasons - we do not evaluate used books on the spot. We are also not appraising vintage, rare, or collectible books.

Please use this guide as a reference for what you may receive in store credit in exchange for your used books. This pricing is subject to change. We do not guarantee that you will receive the max credit for each book, as our decision to purchase and credit given depends on many factors.

Recent hardcovers (in last two years) in very good or excellent condition - $2.00-$6.00
Recent paperbacks (in last two years) in very good or excellent condition - $1.50-$4.00
Hardcovers and paperbacks in good condition - $1.00-$2.00
YA hardcovers and paperbacks - $0.50-$2.00
Children's graphic novels and novels/chapter books - $0.50 - $3.00
Children's recent early readers and chapter books - $0.25 - $1.50
Hardcovers and paperbacks in fair condition - currently not accepting
Mass market books - currently not accepting
Vintage/rare/collectible - current not accepting
